Cheesy
Garlic Bread
Ingredients
1 large loaf of Italian or
sourdough bread
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
or margarine, softened
1/3 cup grated mozzarella cheese
4 cloves fresh,
chopped garlic
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
flakes
Directions
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cut loaf in half,
lengthwise. Mix garlic with softened butter.
Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each half. In a
small bowl, mix Parmesan cheese with remaining dry
ingredients. Sprinkle evenly over bread.
Place bread halves on ungreased baking sheet and
bake until cheese is melted and golden brown, about
10 - 15 minutes. Let cool slightly. Slice into thick
slices and serve immediately.
You can substitute Romano cheese in place of Parmesan, add Cayenne pepper to dry ingredients, or sprinkle in a dash of
Garli Garni or
Garli Ghetti.
